It is His Angel

Acts 12:5-17

Consider the story of Peter and his friends who were praying for him. The Apostles were persecuted by King Herod Agrippa the son of Aristobulus. At this time, Peter was imprisoned by Herod and the Bible says, “prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for Him”. The church knew Peter had a challenge and they constantly prayed for him without ceasing. Prayed while they were eating, doing their daily activities. In fact, the issue of Peter was in their heart and mind every time; without ceasing.

Well God did answer their prayers and delivered Peter from the Prison. The angel of God led Peter out of the prison into the streets where he was safe. He came to the house of Mary, the mother of John where many were gathered praying for him. He knocked and Rhonda a damsel who knew Peter’s voice; maybe from his preaching or praying to the congregation refused to open the door. Rhoda went to tell the good news, but they told her she was mad. She repeatedly told them that it was Peter from his voice, and they believed it was Peter’s angel who has come in his likeness, maybe to share the bad news that Peter is dead.

As Christians, we have challenges, we take them to God believing that he would answer. But alas we aren’t believing him to answer. The church of God was praying without ceasing to the God they know will answer. They’ve seen Him deliver the apostles. They Prayed, saw God starting to answer their prayers but believed Him not. How many of us has prayed, saw God starting to answer our prayers but believe it not because we haven’t seen the full response to our prayers. Ours is to pray, believe in God that He would answer our prayers.
