The Christmas story A story we all like to share, a story that happened and has been told over time. A story that was prophesized a long time ago. A story some think is a fable and some still expecting it to happen. Mary a young virgin, who might have been told of the prophesy by her parents or heard of the story or it is possible that Mary had no idea of this Christmas story at all, as it was not prophesized in her time. The Christmas story came, and Mary was chosen because she was pure and righteous before God. An angel appeared to her and said she would conceive and bear a son of the Holy Spirit, Mary didn’t refuse and instead with a humble heart began to expect her Messiah.  Joseph a just man, espoused to Mary was told by an angel that his fiancĂ©e is with child before they came together. Humility As a young child, I was brought up by my parents to respect elders. My Nigeria heritage; what my parents taught me, how I saw others in my communities and church behaved, all were reinforcements of good behavior. Is humility greeting the elderly, staying at the last row in a party, not talking at the same time an elder is speaking, giving preference to your parents, and even to your peers. These are all good behaviors to enforce a good character that is unfortunately being rapidly eroded in our society today. However, humility goes beyond having good character and has more deeper meaning. Humility starts with seeing ourselves as God sees us; I mean admitting oneself as sinner that need to repent and plead for forgiveness of sins. It is only then we can possess the true humility that comes from God. It is an attribute of God that no one outgrows.  Humility is a powerful tool that every Christian should have.
