The Christmas story

A story we all like to share, a story that happened and has been told over time. A story that was prophesized a long time ago. A story some think is a fable and some still expecting it to happen. Mary a young virgin, who might have been told of the prophesy by her parents or heard of the story or it is possible that Mary had no idea of this Christmas story at all, as it was not prophesized in her time. The Christmas story came, and Mary was chosen because she was pure and righteous before God. An angel appeared to her and said she would conceive and bear a son of the Holy Spirit, Mary didn’t refuse and instead with a humble heart began to expect her Messiah. 

Joseph a just man, espoused to Mary was told by an angel that his fiancée is with child before they came together. Joseph a just man did as the angel bid him and took Mary as his wife. What a story! a story that cost them to be ridiculed by their neighbors, friends and even family. Are you and I ready to bear the shame of the cross for the salvation of others? Paul says I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation.

The Shepherds who watched their flocks by night; they were at work ensuring means of livelihood and suddenly the angel of the lord appeared to them. They were afraid but still stayed to listen to what the angel has to say. Many times, people see the awesomeness of God but still fail to acknowledge Him. With gladness of heart they left their flocks and immediately went to see the good news that has been told to them. May God use this season to awaken our spiritual sensitivity the things of God.

The Wise men from the East followed a star. These men were wise and probably has read that a King would come and save the world from sin. They followed the star and travelled long days only to meet disappointment in Herod palace when they couldn’t find THE KING. The joy of seeing their heart desire (Jesus) at last made them to forget the problems of the road and their disappointments. God helping you and I, by His grace, the weariness and the toils of our spiritual journey will amount to nothing when we shall Him face to face.

Each person that was in the Christmas story obeyed and sacrificed something. Are you in GOD’s story about the prophesy that is yet to be fulfilled. We are expecting His coming and are you prepared to meet Him up there, to be in His Story of Rapture, His Story of Marriage Supper of the Lamb and His story to rule with Him for 1000 years? Use this Christmas season to ensure that you are in the account of God for good and righteousness and not for condemnation.
